Gepetto Toy Craft

Gepetto.

A name that evokes kindness, wisdom, love and a mastery of woodcraft.

A name that fits this company perfectly.

Established in 1980, Gepetto Toy Craft is a New Zealand company specialising in the manufacture of wooden rattles, teethers and cot plays for babies.

Gepetto toys are fun.  Their traditional craftsmanship combines safety and style in long-lasting wooden toys designed to entertain and stimulate boys and girls alike.  Comfortable shapes, soothing sounds and pleasing colours make their toys favourites from the very beginning.

Gepetto toys are safe.  Colours are guaranteed non-toxic and saliva resistant, tested to European Standards and designs are developed and tested to meet International Toy Safety Standards.

Gepetto toys are sustainable.  The wood used in Gepetto’s toys is locally grown sycamore maple, a readily regenerating species that Gepetto Toy Craft specifically harvests for toy production.  Typical of the maple family, this hardwood is non-splintering, strong and durable, and has excellent turning and finishing characteristics.

Gepetto Toys are well made.  After about twelve months air drying, the milled sycamore is ready for turning on one of three wood lathes to produce all the turned components used in Gepetto’s toys. Further processing and finishing, colouring and assembly, are completed in Gepetto’s workshop in the Central Otago town of Alexandra, southern New Zealand.

Gepetto Toy Craft - classic by name, classic by nature.
